” For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what was planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; “-Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4 (ESV)
A time for everything… How true that is. In grief I have found laughter in memories, and sadness at the same time. I have found times of dancing and times of bawling.
Today I felt a bit numb in places. Parts of me feel so raw and exposed, and others feel like a scab, a layer of protection wrapped around the pain. Other parts feel a bitterness I pray that God uproots before it takes hold and produces rotten fruit.
Truthfully I have been thinking of Gods goodness through it. I don’t know what lies ahead, but he does. I don’t know the depths of the unknown, but he does. I don’t know his plan, but I know his is better than mine ever could be.
This time ahead is challenging. Hard. Lonely. But we are never truly alone, as God will never leave us, nor forsake us.
Prayer for today:
Dear Lord, I ask that you help us through the roughest of seasons. When a tree loses it’s leaves, we don’t see the work under the soil, but you do. You know the plans you have for us, plans of a future and a hope. When Joseph was sent to prison unfairly, you never left him. When the son walked away from his inheritance, you were there with open arms when he came home. No matter where we are at in our walks, I ask that you comfort us when we need comfort, and celebrate when its time to celebrate. To mourn with us when it is time to mourn, and rest with us when it is time to rest. May we stand on your promises all the days of our lives.
In Jesus name,
AMEN
May you all rest in his perfect peace.
